Jolene Marie (Nitcher) Cranmer went Home on January 1, 2018 at the age of 72 from her daughter's home in Topeka, KS. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in December of 2017. It was a sad but heartwarming time the last month that we had with her. Mom will be dearly missed.
Jolene was born on March 16, 1945 at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas; the daughter of Herbert T. Nitcher and Elizabeth (Cowell) Nitcher. She was one of seven children consisting of four brothers and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her former husband, James Cranmer (2006); her parents; and her brothers Charles (Chuck) Nitcher, Ronald (Ron) Nitcher, and Richard (Dick) Nitcher.
Jolene worked in the Hospitality Industry for most of her life. She raised her 3 girls Tonya, Bobbi, & Jenny while residing in Kansas & California for most of that time. With a short stent in Colorado. The last several years she has enjoyed her time caring for her three great grandchildren, gardening, canning and making her famous salsa. Spending time with Family was always one of her priorities.
She is survived by her beloved daughters: Tonya Nitcher (Topeka); Roberta (Bobbi) Wehking (Michael Wehking) (Hoyt, KS); and Jenny Cole (Topeka). Three very Special grandchildren: Deidre Cole, Darell Wright, & Marshall Graybeal. Three precious great grandchildren: Austin Michael, James Dillon and Zachary James. Her beloved step-son Rocky Cranmer & her beloved step-daughter Tammy Liedtke; Tammy's daughter Tonya and grandchildren, Elliott ReNea, Easton Russel, & Erick Robert. Tammy's son Mike (Shellby) and grandchildren; Mackenzie Marie, Savannah Nichole, & Blake Michael. Tammy's son Bryan, Tammy's son Mathew & grandson Lucas Mathew and a new baby on the way.
She is also survived by one Sister, Maxine Gates, Oklahoma; one Brother, Paul Nitcher (Patty), Topeka; and three sister-in-laws': Lavon Nitcher, Wanda Nitcher, and Jody Nitcher and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She chose to be cremated as did her parents & many other family members.
No memorial service will be held as she is not 'dead' only deceased.
A 'Celebration of Life' Family Event to be held soon for family & friends to Share in the Very Special Life she lived on this earth and especially to Celebrate Jolene's New Life in Heaven with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. (Date TBD)
