John Howard Shamburg

John Howard Shamburg (64) passed away at Hospice House on May 31, 2018 following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Wichita to Gene and Charlene Kunze Shamburg on January 15, 1954. He and Marjorie "Margi" Dominicis met and were married in Topeka, and celebrated 35 years together. John established and operated Shamburg Unlimited Construction for a number of years, doing remodeling for Payless Shoe Source stores nationally and residential rehab. He also enjoyed his sideline hobby of raising cattle and feed. He was predeceased in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Savannah Jayne Shamburg. Survivors include his wife, Margi Shamburg, a favorite niece, Taylor Corrales, and his constant canine companion, Drover. Also surviving are siblings Pam, Mark and Mike. Gravesite services will be held at Zion Cemetery (located on 45th St. between Shawnee Heights Road and Stanley Road) on Thursday, June 7th, at 3:00 p.m. Midwest Cremation is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
