John Carl Driscoll

John Carl Driscoll, 88, of Hoyt, Kansas passed away January 12, 2016. He was born at home on September 21, 1927 to Daniel and May Rodman Driscoll in Waterford, Connecticut. Carl was married to Lila May Brigham on April 24, 1954, they had four children. He served in the U.S. Army for two years as an M.P. stationed in Germany. Carl worked at Seaside Regional Center in Connecticut in maintenance as a carpenter and landscaper for 16 years. He and his family moved to Lincoln, Kansas in 1981 where he worked for the local school district. In 1991, they moved to Hoyt where he worked for the Royal Valley school district. Carl had many hobbies and interests including woodworking, sports, gardening, fishing, hunting, and reading. But most of all he excelled at caring for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louise and Marie, brothers Ern, Ron and Tommy, and eldest son Brian. Carl is survived by his wife, Lila, of the home, daughter Laurie (Joe) Goetz, Hoyt, sons Joe (Peggy) Driscoll, Napoleon, Missouri, David (Gary Hicks) Driscoll, Ellsworth, daughter in-law Elsie, Lincoln, Kansas, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Per his request, a private family service will be held.
