John Thomas Beavers, Jr.

January 16, 1974 — October 5, 2024

John Thomas Beavers, Jr. passed away at his home in Topeka, KS on October 5, 2024, after a long and brave battle with chronic lung disease. John was born on January 16, 1974, in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. John's family moved to McFarland, KS when John was very young.

John grew up within a close-knit extended family and his childhood was spent creating long-lasting friendships. John attended Alma High School in Alma, KS. John was creative and enjoyed working with his hands which led to careers in metal fabrication in Wamego, KS and industrial insulation in Topeka, KS where he settled and lived until his death.

Outside of work, John enjoyed spending time outdoors. In the last few years of his life, John discovered and excelled at woodworking, creating beautiful pieces. John was also Dad to his two beloved boxer dogs, Gus and Dex, who followed him everywhere and were as much a part of his family as any human member.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Beavers, Sr. John's memory is carried on by his partner Jenny Hendrix, who was with him through the best and worst of times. John was a cherished son to his mother, Cynthia Trezza, and his sisters, Sarah Rucker and Ruby Johnson, will miss the laughter and comfort that their brother brought into their lives. A beloved uncle, John's presence will be deeply missed by his niece, two nephews, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Though his time with us was cut short, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
