Joetta "Jo" Davis, age 38, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, in Scranton, Kansas, following complications from liver failure. Cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Jo was born on August 29, 1985, in Topeka, KS, and spent her life making an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she met.
Jo became a beacon of loving warmth to her family, with her ever-present humor and passionate embrace of life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of her parents, Tina and Terry Gibson; her father Kurtz Poore, her siblings, Ashley Preslicka, Travis Gibson and Trevor Gibson alond with her devoted husband, David Davis. Jo's radiant spirit will be fiercely missed by her beloved daughters, Adalyn and Ansleigh Davis, who were the apple of her eye and her greatest joy.
Holding an unwavering commitment to caring for others, Jo built her career around her nurturing nature as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medication Aide. Her diligence and empathy touched the lives of countless individuals in her care. Her colleagues will remember her as a tireless professional who brought not only skill but also genuine compassion to her work every day.
Outside the workplace, Jo could often be found with a fishing rod in her hand, enjoying a quiet moment by the water or engaged in the dynamic focus and precision of target shooting. Her love for arts and crafts allowed her to express her creative side, endearing her to many in the community for her crafted treasures and shared hobby projects.
Jo was the consummate embodiment of love in action, and those who knew her would always recount how her laughter could light up even the dullest room. A funny and fierce friend, Jo championed the passions and pursuits of all who were lucky enough to know her.
