Jerry R. Liccardi

Oct 21, 1950 — Jun 29, 2026

Topeka, Kansas

Jerry Liccardi, 75, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, with family by his side.

Born on October 21, 1950, in Junction City, Kansas, to Howard and Edna Liccardi, Jerry was raised in Chapman and graduated from Chapman High School. He later earned a degree in Graphic Design from Salina VoTech, beginning a creative career as a graphic designer and art director that spanned more than 45 years.

In the early 1970s, he moved to Topeka, where he met his wife, Lorraine, and his daughter, Veronica. Following his divorce, Jerry became deeply involved with the Mankind Project in Kansas City, where he devoted many years of service and became an Elder.

Jerry had a profound appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He loved the arts, enjoyed listening to blues music, and found comfort in trees, flowers, and open spaces. He often took drives simply to enjoy the scenery, finding happiness in the open road and the beauty of nature. Whether savoring a Coca-Cola, enjoying chocolate, or watching America's Got Talent, Jerry found joy in everyday moments and shared that joy with those around him. He was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and genuine desire to see others happy.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Veronica Sigg, and her husband, Chad, of Topeka, Kansas; his grandchildren, Brecken Sigg (Brett Lichter), Madison Johnston (Dylan Dreher), Addison Sigg (Bailey Hughes), and Carter Johnston (Tristen Thacher); his sister, Pat Hess, and her husband, Dean, of Greeley, Colorado; his sister, Linda Faulkner, and her husband, Terry, of Abilene, Kansas; his brother, Terry Liccardi, of Republic, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all those who knew him as "Grandpa Jerry."

To honor Jerry's memory, his family invites everyone to perform a simple act of kindness by giving a flower to a stranger to brighten their day—a small gesture that reflects the generosity and goodwill Jerry shared throughout his life. Those who wish may also plant a tree as a lasting tribute to his love of nature.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date.
