Jerry W. Hysten Sr. was born on May 6, 1943 in Topeka, Ks to Warren and Peggy M. Hysten. He began his adult life in the Marines in May of 1960 and was discharged in May of 1964. While in the military stationed in Camp Pendleton, San Diego, CA he met Florece "Angel" Armstrong. They married on August 1, 1964. He worked several jobs to support his young family including Whelans Lumber, Hills, and finally retired in 1988 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Florece was as contacted in the door-to-door ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1969. Jerry and Florece were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in May 1972. Jerry served Jehovah faithfully until his death. Jerry leaves behind his wife, Florece, his sons Jerry Warren Jr. (Ronda) and James Lee (Della), two daughters Michelle Lynn and Pamela Kaye, two grandchildren (Isaac and Gavin), and a great grandson (Jayden). He also leaves behind his sister Julie Pipkin (Raymond) and brother Jack, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Maner Conference Center, Capitol Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, 1717 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, Kansas 66612.
