Jerry Lee Brown, age 86, took his last labored breath on the 25th of June 2023, but he always knew that his glass was 1/2 full, of a good red wine.
Jerry Lee Brown was he 2nd by 5-min of identical twin Larry Dee, born to Helen Eldora Reed-Brown and Chester Leroy (CRoy) Brown, at Christ Hospital Topeka Ks. on the 17th of Feb 1937.
Jerry and his siblings attended a one room school for all 8 grades, graduating from Pleasant Valley grade school. Then going on to graduate, from Washburn Rural High School, class of 1955. While at Washburn Rural H. S., Jerry was a 3-year letterman and played on the 1952 State Championship baseball team. He and his brother Larry almost won a 4-H championship blue ribbon at the Kansas State fair, for their homemade ice cream, until they found out that they were actually 10 months younger than the minimum age requirement. He attended Kansas State Univ. for 1 year, before joining the US Navy, where he was given a good conduct medal and an honorable discharge in 1960.
Jerry was employed by the Boeing Co for 11 1/2 years, before being hired by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., remained working there for 30 years, relocating to different parts of the country before retiring in the year 2001.
He enjoyed sports, traveling, coin and stamp collecting and genealogy with his twin brother.
Jerry married Lianne Rae Dempsey April 29, 1961. To that union was born a daughter Kari Angela and a son Trevor Koll (Jana) Brown.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Eldora Reed-Brown & Chester Leroy (C-Roy) Brown, siblings, Larry Dee (Eleanor) Brown, older brother Gary Ray Brown and the LOVE of his life, wife Lianne Rae Dempsey-Brown. He leaves behind his daughter Kari, son Trevor & daughter-in-law Jana. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Emily Horton (mother Kari) & Justin, Bailey Fox (Derek) and Cameron (father-mother Trevor & Jana). Jerry was further blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, Makari (Emily), Hendrix (Justin) and Charli, Kezzi, Scoti, Zuri Fox (Bailey & Derek).
Jerry always liked the saying.... You go through life once, Have a Good Time!!
