Jeffrey Lang Good

September 21, 1956 — August 12, 2024

Jeffrey Lang Good, known affectionately as Jeff to his friends and family, passed away on August 12, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on September 21, 1956, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Jeffrey's life journey came to a peaceful end in Topeka, Kansas, following a courageous battle with cancer. Jeffrey was a beacon of kindness and spirit throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

Jeffrey moved to Overbrook, Kansas with his parents Norman and Pat and siblings Robert, Alan and Colleen where he started third grade. After high school Jeffrey decided upon a brief military stint which led him to serve his country in the Marine Corps. His service was a testament to his character: strong-willed, dedicated, and always ready to support his comrades. After his time in the military, Jeffrey briefly lived and worked in Rhode Island but returned to his hometown where he lived close to boyhood friends. Jeffrey continued to serve his community in a different capacity, embarking on a career that saw him become an integral part of Harding Glass, Kennedy Glass, and later the US Postal Service. His work ethic and amiable nature made him not only a reliable coworker but also a cherished friend to many.

Beyond his professional life, Jeffrey was a man of varied interests and hobbies. His love for music was undeniable, with a special place in his heart for the legendary rock band Steppenwolf. He attended numerous concerts over the years. Car shows were another of Jeffrey's favorites, where he could indulge in his love for automobiles, particularly Volkswagen vehicles. His hobby of collecting cars was more than a pastime; it was a pursuit of preservation and appreciation for the craftsmanship of yesteryear.

Jeffrey's enthusiasm for collecting extended to a myriad of other items, often leading him to local thrift shops in search of the next treasure to add to his collection. His keen eye for the unique and valuable made these excursions both exciting and rewarding. Those who accompanied Jeffrey on the adventures will fondly remember his joy upon discovering a rare find.

Described by those who knew him best as thoughtful, kind, and spirited, Jeffrey will be remembered not just for his interests and hobbies, but for the warmth and generosity he extended to all. His thoughtfulness was evident in his everyday interactions, always taking the time to listen and offer a helping hand. His kindness was boundless, and his spirited nature ensured that his presence was a source of comfort and joy. Jeffrey enjoyed being with his grandnieces and grandnephew truly because he was a big kid at heart.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving family, including his brother Alan Good and wife Sarah, his sister Colleen Gould, and his sister-in-law LaVonne Good, his three nieces and two nephews. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Pat, older brother Robert and nephews Jimmy and Tyler. His memory will be cherished and kept alive within the hearts of his family, who take solace in the indelible mark he left on their lives.

As we bid farewell to Jeffrey Lang Good, we celebrate a life lived with unwavering kindness, a spirited soul, and a legacy of service and friendship that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. Jeffrey's journey through life was one of purpose, joy, and genuine human connection. While his presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created will continue to bring smiles and warmth to all who remember him.

In accordance with Jeff's wishes, his life will be commemorated in a private gathering at the Overbrook Cemetery on September 20th at 4pm, where family and friends will share stories, laughter, and love, honoring a man who was truly one of a kind. Jeff's journey on this earth may have concluded, but the path he carved through the lives he touched will endure forever.
