Jeffery Clay Black

Jeffery Clay Black was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 19, 1958. He moved with his parents, Virgil and Lula, and two sisters, Lorinda and Sharon, to Topeka, Kansas, where they were raised. Jeff attended Eisenhower Junior High School and Topeka High School, for his education. He went on to obtain his CDL from Fort Scott Community College Truck Driving School in 1989. Jeff had one son with his first wife, Susan and later had four daughters with his second wife, Aimee. He lived in many different states, including Florida, Kansas and Texas over his life.

Jeff worked in many different aspects, an over the road truck driver, a bus driver, dump truck driver, cook and bartender. One of his greatest passions over the years was his motorcycles. He loved Harley Davidson. Jeff could spend all day on the leather seat and ride until the sun set. He attended many benefit rides and would ride out of enjoyment.

Jeff passed peacefully at his home in Topeka, KS on December 6, 2019. He fought many health battles over the years and defied many odds.

Jeff is proceeded in death by his parents, Virgil Black and Lula Goldsmith-Black, his nephew Mathew Hoblin and many Aunts and Uncles. His memory lives on through his two sisters, Lorinda Cox and Sharon Black, his five children, Joshua (Trisha) Black, Amber Black, Aubrey (Aaron) Collins, Ariel Black and Akoda Black, his six grandchildren, MacKenna, Hunter, Aralynne, Henry, HarLynn and Corb, his nephew, Jake (Rachel) Cox, and two great nephews, Carter and Cameron and many others relatives.

A Celebration of Life of life will be held on January 11, 2020 at 1102 Main Street, Baldwin City, KS 66006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donations will be accepted at that time. We encourage all his friends and family to ride their motorcycles in his honor.
