Jean Evelyn (Dawson) Robison, affectionately known as Jean, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023, in Topeka, KS, after a life full of love, family, and service. Born on February 7, 1932, in Hill City, KS, to Hubert A. Dawson and Bertha L. (Howard) Dawson, Jean's life was a testament to her resilience, intelligence, and dedication to her family.

Jean was the eighth of nine siblings, all of whom preceded her in death: Mary Turnbull, Kay Bixel, Peggy Dawson, Jack Dawson, Dorothy Duett, Virginia Tregemba, David Dawson, and Lois Meixsel.

She attended the University of Kansas before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedictine College in 1979. Jean's educational journey was not a traditional one, but it demonstrated her selfless nature as she balanced raising a family with pursuing her academic goals.

Jean married Tom Robison on April 25, 1953, and they were married for 66 years. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Tom, with whom she shared four wonderful children: Jan Kiehl (Kevin), Jack Robison (Valerie), Jerry Robison (Mary Ann), and Jim Robison. She was proud to have eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated herself to their happiness and well-being.

Professionally, Jean was a woman of many talents. She co-owned and operated the Cereal Testing Laboratory in Atchison, KS for 10 years, and held positions at Midwest Solvents, Anchor Rail, Atchison Hospital, Benedictine and the Atchison Library. Regardless of the role she held, Jean's work ethic, intelligence, and dedication were evident, making her a respected figure in her professional life.

Aside from her family and work, Jean had a deep love for reading and crossword puzzles, which kept her mind sharp and active. She was also a passionate sports fan, loyally supporting the KU Basketball team, KC Royals, and KC Chiefs. Her love for these teams was infectious, and she passed this passion down to her children and grandchildren.

Jean's life was marked by her interesting personality, analytical mind, and selfless nature. She was a beacon of strength and resilience. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Jean Evelyn (Dawson) Robison's legacy is one of love, dedication, and service, and she will be deeply missed.
