Jean E. Dixon

Jean E. Dixon of Lawrence passed away on July 9, 2019, in the company of family.

Jean E. was born in Lawrence on December 6, 1948 to Charlotte L. (Potts) Dixon and Lloyd J. Dixon.  Jean E. graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967 and retired from a job she loved as a medical assistant with Reed Medical Group in Lawrence on November 30, 2011.  She lived most of her life in Lawrence and in 1989 after her sister, Joann Williams, became a widow they shared a home. They kept each other company until Joann's death in 2018.

Jean E. was never married or had children of her own.  She shared in the lives of her nephew David (Susan) Williams of Lyndon, her nieces Beth (Rod) Stadel of Hoyt, Shonna (Lonnie) Haywood of Topeka, Lisa Bevens of Topeka and Sarah (Tom) Sterrett of Paxico. She had 9 great-nieces and nephews and many great-great-nieces and nephews as well as her extended family.

Jean E. was preceded in death by her parents Charlotte L. (Potts) Dixon and Lloyd J. Dixon of Lawrence, her brother Lloyd J. Dixon of Topeka and her sister Donna Joann (Dixon) Williams of Lawrence.

Jean E. was a member of Jehovah's Witness.  She loved the fellowship her church provided and the brothers and sisters of her faith were always there to lend a helping hand.  Her family cannot thank them enough.

Graveside services are scheduled for Monday August 5, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1517 E 15th Street, Lawrence, Kansas.
