Janet Susan Perkins

Janet Susan (Carr) Perkins, of Topeka passed away July 20, 2017 at the age of 71. She was born March 19, 1946 to Chester and S. Genevieve Carr.

She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1964. She worked as a legal secretary for Topeka-area law firms and retired from Highway Oil Company. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Judith (Carr) Heraty; and her long-time companion Leo (Red) Burroughs. She is survived by her daughters Paula (Perkins) Clanton of Topeka and Melissa (Perkins) Racer of Lee's Summit, MO; and her three grandchildren: Emily Clanton, Elijah Clanton and Quinten Racer; her nephew Patrick Heraty of Chicago, IL and niece Megan (Heraty) Engelberg of Lake Forest, IL.
