James Hilton “Webby” Webster

Lebo- James Hilton "Webby" Webster, 76, Lebo went to be with the Lord on November 4th, 2021.  He passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

James was born January 3, 1945 to Vera Wiley Webster and Edger Webster.

He attended Ottumwa Grade School.  He graduated in 1963 from Lebo High School in Lebo, Kansas.  He worked for Martin Tractor Company until he got a job at Santa Fe Railroad where he took early retirement.  He also worked many other jobs in his "spare" time.  He owned a tree service and Berrycreek Tavern, Carbondale, Kansas.  He then worked many Nuclear Plant Outages throughout the United States.  He also worked for the City of New Strawn.

James loved the outdoors.  He was a hunter, fisher, farmer and something of a mechanical engineer.  He loved dreaming up things that would make his work at home easier.  Once he envisioned it, he would build it and usually with whatever he could repurpose.  He loved spending time with family and friends, especially playing cards or pool or any kind of hunting or fishing.

James was a member of the New Strawn Community Christian Church.

James was preceded in death by his parents Vera and Edgar Webster, a sister Betty Webster and a nephew Barry Scott Norris.

He is survived by a sister Mary Ellen Norris (Robert), two daughters, Darcy Sund (Maurey) and Debra Webster, one niece Shirley Norris, six grandchildren, Levi Sund, Shelby Sund, Kaylee Sund, Kaitlyn Ball (Brandon), Blake Reed and Logan Reed, a great-niece Marissa Mulkern and a great- nephew Colman Mulkern (Lijun).

Cremation is planned.  A Celebration of Life will be held on November 20th, 2021 at the Lebo Senior Center, Lebo, KS from 2-4.
