Jim was Born on March 5, 1933 and passed away at home in Auburn Kansas on March 9, 2015. James was born in Virgil Kansas and lived there until he graduated from High School. He then entered into the Army and received an honorable discharge. He lived in SE Kansas most of his life. Surviving Jim are his three daughters: Connie Comstock of Topeka Kansas, her husband Robert Comstock and their sons Elijah and Jacob Comstock; Patricia Burris of Lawrence Kansas and her son Paul Burris; Elaina Williams of Knoxville Tennessee, her husband Karl Williams and Elaina's daughters, Nikki and Tori Hanold. Jim has two surviving sisters as well. Hazel Bower of San Antonio, Texas and Evelyn Houdek of Frankfort, Kansas. There are numerous nieces and nephews as well. Jim was known for loving two things in this life. The first and most important were his three daughters. They were his world and his life and everything he did revolved around them. The second thing that Jim had a passion for was fishing. You could find him fishing about every evening when the weather permitted. Jim lived in Cherryvale Kansas prior to moving to Topeka. He spent his last five years living near his family where he continued to impress upon them the values of life and love. He had a beautiful soul and will be missed by all of his friends his family.
