James Thomas Case Jr.

June 30, 1955 — April 2, 2019

James Thomas Case Jr., Emporia, passed away at Stormont Vail in Topeka Ks, April 2, 2019 at the age of 63.

James was born June, 30 1955 in Claremore, OK to James T. Case Sr. and Iva Nell Muskrat.  James was a truck driver for 26 years for the City of Emporia and a lifelong resident of Emporia.  He is survived by a son, Joel Case and a daughter, Megan Stumblingbear both of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by three brothers, Gary and wife Janet Case of Emporia, Ben Case of Kansas City, KS, Hank Lee Case of Afton, OK, and two sisters, Joyce Case and June Case both of Vinita, OK.  Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Travis Watson and grandsons Mekko Stumblingbear and Evans Ray Stumblingbear.

James, who was also known as Jimmy to many of his long time friends, is remembered for his passion for motorcyles and riding his Harley Davidson as often as he could.  He really loved to be the life of the party and enjoyed getting together for telling stories and jokes.  Another passion was listening to music which led him, for a time, to being a DJ at a local bar.   He enjoyed weightlifting and body building in younger years and was often considered to be an "underdog" to those who were being bullied, even for strangers who might later become close friends.

A celebration of life is in the works at a later time at Peter Pan Park in Emporia.
