Huston Miles Pulford, Sr., 85 of Topeka Passed away on Monday June 29th, 2020. He was born on April 1st, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to William Miles Pulford and Catherine Huston Pulford. He was the oldest of three children brother to William (Bill) Pulford and Robert (Bob) Pulford.

He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1953.  He was awarded a scholarship for Tennis to McPherson College where he completed a Bachelor's Degree in 1957.  Following college he joined the Marine Corp and finished his service as a 2nd Lt.

Huston had a long and successful career in sales retiring from American Beverage in 2019 as a Regional Sales Manager.   There were not many people who he didn't know in the Wine & Spirit business.  If someone wanted to get a new product out it was Huston they called on to launch.

Huston had a love of all sports particularly Tennis that he played the majority of his life.  He was also a huge Jay Hawk Basketball fan and Chiefs Football Fan.  Working out (drinking coffee and reading the newspaper) was also an early morning ritual which typically started at 4:00am at the gym.  If you didn't run into him at the gym at 4:00am you would run into him at 4:00pm on Friday's at Bull Frog's with a Jonnie Walker and a cigar.

He married Jan Hutt and had three children.  In 1982 he married Cheryl Woods and they just celebrated their 38 Wedding Anniversary on June 5th.

He is preceded in death by his parents Miles and Kay, Nephew Bob Pulford of Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl and his children Huston Pulford, Jr. (Kim) of Overland Park, KS, Jeff Pulford of Plano, TX and Michelle Thomsen of Lawrence, KS.   Grand Children, Hannah Pulford  (Andrew Wildish) of Lenexa, KS, Lindsay Wilson of Lawrence, KS, Taylor Pulford of Dallas, TX and Sydney Pulford (Caleb Smith) of Playa Del  Ray, CA.  Great Grand Children, Wendy and Posey Wilson of Lawrence, KS.   Brothers, Bill Pulford (Ardith) of Montrose, CO  and Bob Pulford (Carolyn) of Manhattan, KS and his three nieces and one nephew.  Also survived by his loving dogs, Gracie and Charly and his Great Grand Dog Jack.

There will be no service as cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Huston's life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Helping Hands Humane Shelter, 5720 SW 21st Street Topeka, KS  66604.
