After graduating from Hinsdale Central High School in 1949, Howard answered the call to serve his nation in the Navy. Howard's life was shared with his beloved wife, Betty W Knowles, who preceded him in death. Together, they raised a family that included their daughter, Diane L Knowles, and son, Charles H Knowles. His intricate miniature dioramas, and dollhouse and furnishings were not only a testament to his craftsmanship but also a source of wonder for family and friends.
