He was born on February 9, 1941, on a farm near White City, Kansas, to the late Paul and Blanche Hansen. Harvey was a cherished brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

Harvey was the youngest of the three Hansen children. His brother, Howard, predeceased him before Harvey's birth, and his sister, Darlene Edison, also passed before him. He is survived by his loving sister, Wilma Manhart, who will remember him fondly.

Harvey was first married to Charlene Jacobs, with whom he fathered his beloved daughters, Cheri and Donna, and twins Gary and Jerry, who sadly predeceased him. Later in life becoming a devoted stepfather to JR Nading son of ex-wife Laura. Harvey was a grandfather to ten grandchildren, a great-grandfather to fourteen, and a great-great-grandfather to five. His legacy will continue to thrive through his extensive family.

Throughout his life, Harvey was known for his dedication to his work. He traveled to different farms to maintain and repair farm equipment, a job that not only fulfilled him but also created lasting bonds with the farming community. His creative spirit was evident in his work, always finding innovative solutions to complex problems.

Beyond his work, Harvey had a deep passion for outdoor activities. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed woodworking. He had a knack for building things, a skill that reflected his creative spirit. Harvey's adventurous side shone through in his younger years when he was a stock car driver, a hobby that eventually evolved into a lifelong love for NASCAR. His love for football was also a significant part of his life, often bringing family and friends together to cheer on his favorite teams.

Harvey was known by his friends and family as a friendly individual, always ready with a warm smile and an open heart. His adventurous spirit was infectious, inspiring those around him to explore and experience the world around them. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at the Highland Cemetery, 703 W. Ash Street, Junction City, KS 66441.
