Harriet Ruth Morgan, 88, of Topeka, KS passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at McCrite Plaza. She was born July 21, 1933, in Grantville, KS the daughter of Earl Henley and Ruth Marie (Freshwater) Morgan.
Harriet lived in Grantville until 1942 when her family moved to Topeka. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1951 and attended Washburn University.
Harriet worked in her father's grocery store from age eleven through high school. She then worked for Kansas Workman's Compensation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Oskaloosa during the acquisition of land for Perry Reservoir. In 1959 she began working for U.S. Property and Fiscal Office, Kansas National Guard, retiring in 1988.
Harriet was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Kansas Women's Golf Association and the USGA.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death eight sisters, Mary, Betty, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Martha, Phyllis, Nancy, and an infant sister that died at birth, Sue, along with two brothers, Thomas, and Fred. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and they all send their love and support for her years of care and compassion.
Per her wishes, she was cremated. Her final resting place will be in Grantville Cemetery.
