Gerald "Jerry" Barnaba, age 64, passed away unexpectedly at Stormont Vail on March 30th following a brief illness.
He was born December 19, 1952 in Mannheim, Germany. He was the son of Anthony and Erna Barnaba. He was employed for many years with Hirschbach Motor Lines as an over the road long haul trucker. He was drafted into the US Army September 1972. He later served in the Texas Army National Guard where he completed a paratrooper course. He was an avid musician who played steel guitar and loved cruising on his motorcycle.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Erna Barnaba, sister Angie Whittlesey, maternal grandparents, and son-in-law James Hubbard.
He married Rosemary (Moody) Barnaba in Texas, she survives at the home, Topeka, KS. Other survivors include stepdaughters Katie Hubbard, Leavenworth; Keri Brucken (Joe), Circleville; grandchildren Zachary, Emma, Ashlyn, and Levi Brucken, Zaydren Hubbard; and best friend Eddie Wampler, Houston Texas and Eddie's children Sarah, Eddie Jr, and Charles.
Burial will be graveside at Leavenworth National Cemetery with full military honorson Monday April 17 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in c/o Denison State Bank, Holton, Kansas.
