George Arthur Moody, 70, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on October 12, 2018 at a Topeka health facility. He was born June 10, 1948 in Holton, KS the son of Albert T. and Dorothy V. (Conger) Moody.
George attended Holton High School before joining the Marine Corps. He served in the Marine Corps from 1967-1976 and was a radio operator in Vietnam. After his service in the military George was a man of many trades including maintenance and home remodeling before his health did not allow him to do those things any longer.
He married Marcia K. Riley on December 30, 1967. She passed away on May 24, 2010. Other survivors include their children, Thomas Moody, Clarissa (Chris) Blazier all of Topeka, two grandsons, Mason Payne and Austin Blazier, a brother, Keith Moody, and a sister Rosemary Barnaba as well as many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his sister Carmelita Riesen.
George's hobbies included collecting and repairing guns, chatting with friends online, watching NASCAR and telling corny jokes.
Honoring George's request, a cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 from noon until 2pm at the IBEW #304 union hall located at 3906 NW 16th Street in Topeka. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
