George L Finch

George (Grumpy) Finch, 78, Topeka, passed Monday July 15, 2019. Born in Parsons Ks to John Finch and Florence Carr Finch January 4, 1941. He graduated from Hayden High School 1959. He attended Washburn University later.

He married Elizabeth Kristina (Kris) Colombo in 1967. To this union were born Sean Thomas Finch, Topeka, and Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Adkins (Paul), Liberty Mo. An infant daughter, Erin, and Kris, preceded him in death in 1972.

He then married Linda Graf Bellinder May 1, 1982. She survives.

Other survivors are stepsons: Jeffrey L Bellinder (Kristie), Bradley R Bellinder, and Thomas W Bellinder (Casey) all of Topeka. Grandchildren Christopher R Voss (Holly), Kansas City, and Ashley & Dalton Finch, Topeka. Step grandchildren Joshua L Bellinder, Cole and Dylan Weekley Bellinder, Shyanne Annon, Sydney and Lillian Lynch, and P K Robertsen, all of Topeka.

A brother, John M Finch, Topeka and a sister, Sister Margaret Finch, Leavenworth, also survive as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dauman, St Louis Mo, and a brother, Thom Finch, Topeka.

He worked at Churchills, a cigar & tobacco store in Topeka.

Rosary by Daughters of Isabella will be at Mater Dei Holy Name site on Friday, July 19 at 5 pm; visitation till 7. Mass will be Saturday, July 20 at 10 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mater Dei or to Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Retirement Fund.
