Gayle Mcbeth-Shirazi

Gayle McBeth-Shirazi passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 28, 2024. Born on January 19, 1954, in Lawrence, Kansas, Gayle's exuberant life journey began as the cherished daughter of her loving parents and grew to encompass a rich tapestry of family, friends, and a community that adored her.

Gayle's formative years in Kansas were filled with the sounds of music and the joys of discovery. Her academic ambitions led her to the University of Kansas, where she not only expanded her intellectual horizons but also cultivated lifelong friendships. As a Regional Director for several Foreign Exchange programs, she became a guiding light for young minds from around the globe, fostering understanding and cultural exchange with a grace that was uniquely hers. Gayle's heart found its match in Nader Shirazi, with whom she built a life. Though Nader predeceased her, their legacy lives on in their children, Mary and Javad. Gayle is also survived by her brothers Matthew and Glen.

An avid traveler, Gayle embraced the world with open arms, ever eager to explore new places and cultures. Her adventures took her to distant lands, but she always returned home with stories that captivated and inspired those around her. Gayle's sense of humor was a beacon of light, bringing laughter and warmth to every gathering.
