Francis “Frank” Schoovaerts passed away peacefully at his home on April 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and quiet compassion. He was born on November 10, 1954, in Brussels, Belgium, a vibrant city that shaped his early years and instilled in him a deep appreciation for family and connection.
Frank was the beloved son of Clementine and Henri Schoovaerts. His childhood in Brussels was filled with warmth and laughter alongside his family. Though he later endured the loss of his parents and his brother, Jean-Jacque, the values they instilled in him remained a guiding force throughout his life.
After graduating high school in Brussels, Frank pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning an online gourmet catering certification. This passion led to a remarkable 43-year career at Stormont Vail, where he served with dedication and care. He retired as a Dietary Supervisor, a role in which his gentle nature, attention to detail, and genuine kindness earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike.
In 2016, Frank found his greatest joy when he married his beloved husband, Chuck Annis, on June 4. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared adventures. Frank especially cherished time spent with family and friends, whether in quiet gatherings or traveling to one of his favorite places, Puerto Vallarta.
Frank will be remembered as a truly gentle soul. His warmth extended not only to people but also to animals, who seemed instinctively drawn to his calm and caring presence. His compassion, often expressed in simple, thoughtful ways, left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his devoted husband, Chuck Annis; his sisters, Jackie Schoovaerts McGregor, Nicole Vanhollebeke, Evelyne Rose Baker, and Claudine Schoovaerts; and his brothers, Marc Schoovaerts and Louis Alain Schoovaerts.
Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave and the kindness he embodied will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
As we say goodbye, we honor a life beautifully lived—one defined by gentleness, generosity, and enduring love. His memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
