Frances Marie Hunt

Frances Marie Hunt, 75, of Abilene, KS, passed away on October 11, 2023, at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS.

She was born August 11, 1948, in Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of Master Sergeant Albert F. Hunt and Sergeant First Class, Claudine (Dixon) Hunt.

After returning to the states, her family settled in Marion, KS where she was a 1967 graduate of Marion High School. After high school and sometime during the 1970's she did Missionary Work in the country of Chili. After her return from Chili she moved to Abilene, KS to help her lifelong friend Bonnie Harris and her children.

Frances worked various jobs through out the years and at the time of her death was working at the Rolling Hills Zoo.

Survivors include her lifelong friend, Bonnie Harris of the home, two sisters, Barbra (John) Stultz of McPherson, and Judy Lacy of Idaho, two nieces, Tera Stultz of McPherson, and Sharon (David) Harter of Topeka. She was blessed with a great-niece, Elzabeth Pommell and a great-nephew, Gregory Raby, Jr. both of Topeka. Numerous great-great nieces and nephews along with a lot of other friends that she considered family also survive.

Frances was preceded in death by her father Al, her mother, Claudine, and two nephew's Timothy and Daniel Harris.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Community Church, 210 S. High Street, Enterprise, KS 67441. Lunch will be provided at the church immediately following the service.  The family  has asked if you would please wear KC Chiefs gear or colors.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Cremation, 525 SE 37th Street, Topeka, KS 66605.  These donations will be used to cover final expenses.  Any funds that are left over will go towards planting a tree in her memory at the Rolling Hills Zoo.
