Felipe Reyes Marquez

Felipe Reyes Marquez, 37, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015.

He was born November 11, 1977, in Torreon, Mexico, the son of Gerardo Reyes Cortez and Maria Elena Reyes Marquez.

Felipe was an Apostolic Pentecostal and attended The Apostolic Church of Topeka, Kansas. He also spent years and had many friends from his time as a member of El-Shaddai Templo De Alabanza Iglesia of Topeka, Kansas.

Survivors include his parents, Gerardo and Elena Reyes, son, Luis Eduardo Reyes Pinedo of Torreon, Mexico, daughter, Maria Guadalupe Reyes Pinedo, Torreon, Mexico, son, Enoch Reyes, Kansas City, Missouri, brothers, Luis Reyes Marquez (Victoria), Mario Reyes Marquez, sister, Elvira Reyes Marquez (Jorge), grandchildren, Antonio Pinedo and Madalyn Dayana Pinedo, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins.

Felipe was the most kind, gentle, loving and compassionate man who loved God with all of his heart. He would spend hours listening to his Bible through a set of CD's that he had. He loved to spend time with friends and family at gatherings where you would see Felipe either sitting back quietly watching the festivities (always with a smile on his face), or at other times, talking and laughing with his family. When he smiled, Felipe had the smile of an angel and whenever he laughed, his whole face would just light up. He spent countless and tireless hours helping the friends and family that he loved so much. Whether it was to help a dear elderly friend that he spent many a day with or fixing a mechanical issue on a car, helping to fix up or repair a house, fixing an electronic problem (where only Felipe seemed to figure out the problem), helping his friend bake bread at his bread store, or just helping his family with yard work, Felipe was always there. He was a consistent man and a well-balanced one. He was a good listener and his response almost always was just a shake of his head as he listened to your troubles. Although he didn't always say much, everyone knew how much Felipe cared. Although our hearts are saddened and we will dearly miss our beloved brother, son, father and friend, at the same time, we rejoice that his body is no longer burdened with pain and he is now in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 6pm, Friday, August 14th, 2015 at The Apostolic Church, 2313 SE 29TH St, Topeka, KS 66605. Felipe was cremated and a private inurnment will take place with his loving family.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the many, many friends and family members for their heartfelt prayers and condolences for the loss of our beloved Felipe.
