Eva Louise Courtner, 87, Topeka, passed away August 24 at Midland Hospice House. This loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born Sept 4, 1927, in Mountain View, Oklahoma, the daughter of WE and Alice Grigsby. She graduated in 1945 from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville, KS. Eva married Forest Courtner in 1945 and moved to Topeka. Forest passed away in 2004.
Eva was a real estate agent until she retired in 1988. She also worked for the Kansas Legislature and volunteered at the reading program for Jardine Junior High for 10 years. Eva was an active member of Countryside United Methodist Church since 1962. She was also a member of the HG Chapter of PEO and United Methodist Women.Eva was active in the Ladies Golfers Unit at Topeka Public Golf Course.
Eva is survived by 3 daughters: Pamela (Gary) Deulley, Rebekah (Dan) Wilson, and Deborah Courtner, 4 grandchildren: Brian Deulley, Meagan Deulley Nokes, Andrew Evans and Taylor Evans, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Eva Courtner will be held Friday, August 28, at 10:00 AM at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service in the Countryside Church Parlor at 9:00 AM.
