Ervin "Papa Erv" Leo Cole

Ervin Leo Cole, aka, "Papa Erv", 83, of Carbondale, KS, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2023, at Homestead of Auburn.

He was born April 9, 1940, in Bakersfield, CA the son of Corda and Ellie (Merchant) Cole.

Papa Erv served in the US Air Force and retired from Sprint where he worked as a Fiber Optics Technician.

He married Martha Joyce Bayless on April 15, 1981, in Osage City. She survives. Papa Erv is also survived by two sons, Mike (Jill) Gustin, and Jerod (Caryn) Gustin, along with three daughters, Barb Cole, Debbie Cole, and Linda Cole. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Corda, and Ellie Cole, along with two sisters, Codra and Babara.

Cremation has taken place with services being announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Papa Erv's memory to the Alzheimer's Association/Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Help, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
