Everyone knew him as Ernie. He always said Ernest was his father. He was born at home in Grenola, Ks to loving parents, Ernest and Elma Hull. He grew up wild and free to roam pasture land and fishing spots. He was proud to be a graduate of Cambridge High School, At age 20, he married his sweetheart, Kay. They were married 57 years before Ernie passed to his heavenly home on November 9 2021.
Ernie embraced life by enjoying bowling, golfing, bicycling, creating stained glass art, gardening, and fishing. He gave life and blessings to others by being a volunteer fireman in Cambridge Ks, serving as Mayor and council member there, elder and treasurer of Cambridge Presbyterian Church, giving blood (over 30 gallons in all), and filling the role of P.H. (preacher's husband)
He served 4 years, 6 months, 11 days, and 17 hours in the US Army, Then he worked at Intrust Bank in Wichita for 32 years.
Ernie's best legacy is found in his two sons and their families. Neil Hull (Mina), and Dave Hull, (Jess). Grandchildren include: Lili, Alice, Ruby, Cooper , and Claire.
He is survived by his wife, Kay, their sons and families, his siblings, John, Mark, and Marsha. He is preceded in death by brothers Gene and Jeff, and his parents.
A memorial service will be held in Cambridge Ks in December. Memorials include Oakland Presbyterian Church, 2810 NE Thomas Ave Topeka Ks 66616, and Cambridge Presbyterian Church, Box 37 Cambridge Kansas 67023
