Emma B. Ward

Emma B. Ward, affectionately known as Kelly to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at the age of 85, in Meriden, Kansas. Born on April 28, 1940, in the serene town of Saltcoats, Scotland, Kelly's vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

Kelly embarked on a journey across the Atlantic, bringing with her a wealth of Irish charm and tenacity. Her professional life was marked by a distinguished career as a District Manager for the Skaggs Company's Cosmetics Division, where she was revered for her leadership, dedication, and innovative ideas that left a lasting impact on the industry. Her colleagues will remember her as a trailblazer who approached every challenge with grace and determination.

Throughout her life, Kelly was the epitome of love and devotion to her family. She is survived by her beloved family members, including her son, Jerry Scruggs; her loving daughter, Dawn Maire Grimm; her adored grandchildren, Caitlin Scruggs, Brandon Grimm, and Dylan Scruggs. Each of them was a source of immense pride and joy for Kelly, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family bonds.

Kelly's legacy will be carried on not only through her family but also through the countless lives she enriched with her generosity and spirited personality. Her guidance and wisdom were a beacon for many, and her laughter was the music that filled the room, leaving a melody that will resonate long after her passing.

As we bid farewell to Emma B. Ward, we celebrate a life lived with passion and purpose. Her journey from the shores of Scotland to the heartland of Kansas is a testament to her adventurous spirit. While we mourn her loss, we take solace knowing that her journey continues in the memories we cherish and in the love that she shared so freely.

Kelly's life will be honored in a private ceremony, where her family and friends will gather to share stories, tears, and laughter, commemorating a remarkable woman who will forever be remembered for her unwavering spirit and the love she bestowed upon us all.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be a Celebration of Life starting at 5:00 PM Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Ozawkie American Legion, 10114 Old Town Trail, Ozawkie, KS 66070.
