Eleanor Ostler

November 15, 1922 — January 3, 2026

Topeka

Eleanor Ostler, age 103, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Eleanor lived a long, full life defined by love, family, and togetherness.

Eleanor was the true matriarch of her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than time spent with those she loved, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Whether gathered together or separated by miles, Eleanor made sure family was always close at heart.

In her spare time, Eleanor was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and KU Basketball. If a game wasn’t on, chances were she was on the phone, catching up with family and friends—always interested, always caring, always present.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Williams and husband Bob, Janice Williams and husband Gary, and daughter-in-law Lucinda Ostler; her five grandchildren, Jessica Lehnherr and husband Jason, Jennifer Berrier and husband Tim, Matthew Williams and wife Cara, Brian Ostler, and Jonathon Ostler; and her six great-grandchildren, Brayden Lehnherr, Addison Lehnherr, Bryce Berrier, Corbin Berrier, Asher Williams, and Charles Williams.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert Ostler; her son Jim Ostler; her parents Gilbert and Elizabeth Trongeau; and her four siblings.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to United Way of Kaw Valley, 1527 SW Fairlawn Rd Topeka, KS 66604.

Eleanor’s legacy of love, devotion, and family will live on in the many lives she touched and the generations she cherished.
