Eldon Carl Rice

Eldon Carl Rice, 69, Topeka died Friday, August 16, 2024, following his courageous cancer battle at Midland Care Hospice House.

He was born April 25, 1955, in Topeka.

Eldon graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1973 and attended Kaw Area Vocational Technical School in 1974. He worked at Topeka Foundry and Iron Works as a CNC Programmer from 1979 to 2016.

Eldon was a free-spirited, amazing man who touched the lives of so many with his kindness, humor and unwavering love. He was a loyal friend to many.

The love of his life, June Kelley-Rice, preceded him in death in 2011. Surviving are his brother, Glenn Rice and sister-in-law Emma Rice of Berryton, KS and nephew Dustin (Cayley) of San Diego, CA. Daughter, Lisa Rice and grandchildren, Robert Finley and Collin Tyner of Topeka, KS.

A celebration of Eldon's life will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Garfield Shelter House in Topeka, KS.
