On May 30, 1952, Edwin Robert Harrison, affectionately known to all as Amos, was born in Lubbock, Texas. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amos on February 17, 2024, due to complications related to Parkinson's disease.
Amos was preceded in death by his mother, Betty J. Harrison, his father, Hank _. Harrison, and his brother, John R. Harrison. He is survived by his devoted wife, Amie _ Harrison, his brother Wesley C. Harrison, sisters Paula M. Godsey, and Nancy K. DeWitt, as well as his four children: Nikki Harrison, Tim Harrison, John Harrison, and Kylee Brooks. Additionally, he leaves behind fifteen grandchildren: James Newman, Isaiah Phelps; Justice, Sabrina, Haley, and Alonna Simons; Alijah and Trevor Moreno; Tailor, Aiden and Alexis Rose Harrison; Adrianna and Chole Pavilick; Samariah and Lily Hammerland; Alyssa McCarty, and nine great-grandchildren.
A stalwart figure at McElroys Heating and Air Conditioning, Amos dedicated countless hours to the craft and kinship found within an honest day's work. His skilled and steady hands brought warmth to homes and hearts alike.
Amos found solace and joy in the companionship of horses, creatures as noble and free-spirited as he. He reveled in the thunderous dance of team penning, where man and beast moved as one in a harmonious display of skill and trust. Additionally, he had a great appreciation for golf and enjoyed Thursday night games with his father.
Amos was a kind, intelligent, and selfless soul who was loved and admired. His presence provided comfort and warmth, and he walked through life with a gentle strength that drew others to his side. In his passing, he leaves a void that cannot be filled. Let us not mourn his departure, but rather celebrate the gift of his time among us - a gift as precious and irreplaceable as the man himself.
