It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Edna Gardner, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left us on May 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 16, 1939, in Olivet, Kansas, Edna was the cherished daughter of Louis and Dorothy Weimer. Her life was a testament of resilience, love, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Edna married Lester Gardner, on August 29, 1955, in Camden, Missouri. They had a life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.
Lester and their daughter, Rhonda, and grandson Clifford, predeceased her.
Edna held various jobs throughout her life while also being a devoted homemaker. Her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth, where she raised her family and welcomed all with open arms. Her strength and kindness were evident in every endeavor she undertook, and she inspired those around her to embrace life with the same vigor and grace.
Edna has a passion for meeting new people and traveling to new places. She enjoyed the connections she made, always ready with a smile and kind words. Her travels enriched her life and those she loved, leaving behind memories forever.
Edna's legacy lives on through her surviving family, her devoted daughters Janet Brown (Bruce) and Donna Gibbs, her two loving sisters and her brother, three grandchildren, Shawn Brown, Crystal Brown, and Dillon Gibbs and several great grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory.
A celebration of Edna s life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at historic Ward Meade House, located at 122 NW Filmore, Topeka. Friends and family are invited to join us in remembering a remarkable woman who touched so many hearts.
