Edith M. "Butch" (Vervynck) Morris, 82, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2020 at Midland Hospice House.  Butch was born May 22, 1938, in Burns, KS, the daughter of John M. and Edna (Hayden) Vervynck.

Butch was one of 3 children and graduated from Kinsley High School.  Upon graduation she moved to Topeka and began work in the banking industry.  After the birth of her children she became a dedicated homemaker spending countless hours following her sons in their athletic pursuits, her favorite being baseball.  Once her kids were in school full-time, she returned to the work force at Capital City Bank and eventually at Electronic Data Systems (EDS).  She was an avid bowler, traveling as far as Las Vegas to compete, loved to watch competitive billiards, and enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and other board games with family and friends.  She loved traveling and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devout catholic and a long-time member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Topeka.

Butch is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Morris, Topeka.  She is also survived by her three sons; Steve (Belinda), Rossville, Rick, Topeka, and Roger, Topeka.  Other survivors include 9 grandchildren; Bailey (Jacob), Devin, Jared, Amanda (Chris), Jenna (Trey), Sara (Ben), Kayla, Janae (Greg), and Brant (Karlyn) as well as 10 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-granchildren; sisters-in-law Ruth Vervynck, Lawrence,  Bernice Vervynck, Lawrence, Sandy Morris, Topeka and Lois Haid, Topeka; brothers-in-law, Frank Morris, Topeka and Eugene Morris, Evanston, Wyoming, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death include her parents, brothers John R. Vervynck, and William M. "Bill" Vervynck.

There will be a private graveside service at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa, KS after the Christmas holiday.
