Dotty Ilene Wilson

Dotty Ilene Wilson, age 83, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on June 10, 2018, after complications from colon cancer.

Dotty was born May 15, 1935 in Brownstown, Illinois, daughter of the late Clyde Stephen Sidwell and Dorothy Elizabeth Washburn.

She married Maurice Alfred Hamilton on October 8, 1953. He predeceased her on August 15, 1999.

Also predeceased by sisters, Charlene, Marilyn and Evelyn Sidwell; grandchildren Daniel Tenpenny and Brandon Hamilton.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, H. Dean Wilson; her children, Glenda S Ridgeway (Tracy) of Topeka, Brenda L Hamilton of San Diego, Jeffrey S Hamilton of Topeka; sisters Donna Jordan (Floyd) of Granite City, Illinois, Joy Adams (Ed) of Decatur, Illinois, Jerry White (Tom) of Coffeen, Illinois; step-children, Lyle Wilson and Linda Stokes (Keith); grandchildren, Ben Tenpenny (Erica), Deanna Dawson (Nathan), Brad Tenpenny (Sarah), Michael Busa, Bryan Ditzler, Lena Kirchhoff, Blake Hamilton, Jesi Lipp, Mary Clow (Nicholas); great-grandchildren, Taylor, Morgan, Andrew, Aaron, Alexander, Stella, Charley, Georgia, Ezekiel, Lily, Brandon and Cammie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Having been a member of Highland Heights Christian Church for many years and presently a member of Highland Park Methodist Church. Dotty shared her passion for the kitchen and homemaking with both home and church families. She volunteered for many community events and organizations. Loved her square dancing, card playing and teaching her grandchildren to play dominos.

Memorial services will be held at Highland Park Methodist Church on Saturday, June 23, 2018. Visitation at 10:00 am with service at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be a later date in the Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown, Illinois. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Highland Park Methodist Church, Avalon Hospice in Topeka or an organization of your choice.
