Dorothy Delores Rafferty, affectionately known by all who loved her as Dorothy, passed away peacefully due to natural causes on March 18, 2024, at the age of 84 in St. Marys, Kansas.
Born on August 2, 1939, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Dorothy's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joyful moments that touched many. After a long and fulfilling career, she retired from Southwest Bell Telephone.
Dorothy's zest for life was evident in her love for the game of bingo. It was more than a pastime; it was a way for her to connect with friends, share laughter, and celebrate the small victories in life. Her infectious smile and spirited energy made her a favorite among her fellow players, creating a legacy of fond memories in the halls where she played.
Family was the cornerstone of Dorothy's world. She was a loving mother to her five children, enduring the loss of her sons James and Mark with grace and fortitude. David Niedfeldt and his spouse Tammy, Richard Niedfeldt, and J.D. Kenney and his spouse Kelli along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will forever cherish the wisdom and nurturing care Dorothy provided. Her guidance was a guiding light in their lives, instilling values of kindness, resilience, and the importance of family bonds.
