Dorothy "Dottie" M. (Orlowski) Edens, age 95, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Topeka, Kansas. Born on April 9, 1929, in Wallula, Kansas. Dottie lived a life marked by devotion to her family and her faith.
Dottie was a lifelong Lutheran, where she found spiritual solace and community. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her regular attendance and participation in church activities along with LWML.
Dottie was a devoted military wife to Senior Master Sergeant Kenith Edens raising three young girls while following her husband from duty station to duty station for 22 years while setting up households for her family in the U.S. and abroad. When back on U.S. soil, she became a licensed realtor.
She excelled in various hobbies, bringing the same passion and dedication to each one. An avid golfer, archer, bowler, and artist, Dottie enjoyed these activities which not only challenged her but also allowed her to form many cherished friendships and memories throughout the years.
Dottie resided at Arbor Court for the past 11 years. She developed many friendships there with other residents and staff. She dearly loved the many activities and events.
Dottie was the beloved matriarch of her family, revered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy continues through her daughters, Nancy (Edens) Fennell and Shari (Edens) Saxton; sons-in-law, Gene Bilynsky and Michael Lohe; Grandchildren, Christopher Bilynsky (Nicole Monroe), Fallon (Ryan) Colwell, Jessi Saxton, and Andrea (Ben) Singer; Great-grandchildren, Rilee Vandevoort, Landon Cobler, Jackson Coon, Amira Monroe, Charlie Singer, and Oliver Singer, Alyssa Lohe and Zylin Lohe. Michael (Cathy) Orlowski, Kenneth Orlowski, Sarah (Michael) Towery and Rachael (Henry) Alvarado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Anna Orlowski; her husband, Kenith Edens; her brother, Marvin Orlowski and most recently her daughter Marcy (Edens) Bilynsky.
Dottie's final arrangements are being handled by Midwest Crematorium. Her life and memory will be honored in a manner befitting her significant impact on those around her. The family extends their gratitude to all who have supported them during this time and cherishes the memories shared with Dottie.
