Doris M. Miller age 83 passed away Wednesday October 5, 2016 at Midland Hospice House Topeka, Ks.

She was born December 20, 1932 El Dorado Ks. Her parents Guy and Laura Carey preceded her, She had had two sisters and one brother who also preceded her.

She was a proud grandmother of four grandchildren and three step grandchildren.

She additionally had seven great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.

Doris spent her early childhood in El Dorado and later her family re-located to

Culllison Ks. She met her first and only love of her life O. Gene Miller there while working in a local Sundry making handmade malts. Gene always said her Malts were the best.They were married June 1950. They later moved to Pratt Ks and were parents to Duane (Kenda) and Carey (Karen) Miller.

In 1957 Doris and Gene and their sons moved to Topeka where her and her family remain.

Doris spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. she did spend considerable time working with Gene's electrical business they owned.

A fond memory of Doris is that she was always a great cook. She enjoyed family dinners and made the best Thanksgiving Dinners and Christmas Dinners that you could have imagined. For many years you could always count on getting one of the best homemade hamburgers that our family and many of our friends ever enjoyed. If you were a childhood friend of Duane and Carey you would have certainly eaten a great number of these burgers.

Doris loved God and was a member of Northland Christian Church. because of her later health concerns she was currently attending Family Life Nazarene Church with son Duane and Kenda.

Gene and Doris in later life purchased a cabin in Medicine Lodge (99 Springs) where they spent as much time as possible she always fishing with her "Genie"

Doris will always be remember for the the many lady friends she made and spent her time with.

There are so many memories and she was a Great Lady she is going to be missed – we know that she has gone to be with the Lord, her deceased family and friends and of course her husband whom she missed so much.

As per her wishes she is to be cremated with no service.
