Donna M. (Maggie) Kelley, 88, of Topeka, Kansas died on October 28, 2022, at the House at Midland Care Hospice.
She was born in 1934 in Junction City, KS to D. L. and Violet Huff Garrigues. The family moved to Topeka in 1941.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1952, and attended Kansas State
University. In 1980, she completed massage training at the New Mexico School of
Natural Therapeutics, Albuquerque and started the business Backs by Popular
Demand.
She was a lifelong volunteer, co-founder of KS Association Therapeutic Massage and
Bodywork, Inc. She was active in P.E.O., Topeka Friends of the Zoo, Career Chapter
ABWA, Topeka Civic Theater, Ambassador with Topeka Chamber of Commerce,
Toastmasters, and World Laughter Club. She was a board member of Keep America
Beautiful.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Kelley Barnett (Robert) of Lawrence, Ned and
Maxine Garrigues of San Diego, Ca., Hal and Kay Garrigues of Palmetto Bay, Fl. and
Blanche Garrigues Parker of Wichita. She was preceded by her ex-husband Barton C.
Kelley, daughter June Kelley Rice, and brother Ed Garrigues.
Maggie was the most long-time member of Unity Church of Christianity, in Topeka,
where her ashes will be scattered. She enjoyed her celebration of life at her birthday
party on September 10th.
