Donald Dean Wendt passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home in Perry, KS surrounded by his family. He was born on March 16, 1945 in Axtell, KS to Ervin and Louise (Peggy) Wendt.

Donald grew up and attended school in Denison and Holton as well as automotive painting technical college in Chicago, IL. Although he had several jobs during his lifetime, he was best known as a talented automotive painter. He lived most of his life in Kansas but also lived in Arizona and Missouri for numerous years.

Donald married Peggy Jackson in Holton in 1963. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 21, 2023. From this union they had two daughters, Tina Klenklen-Albertson (Marc) of Perry, KS and Tammy Wistuba (Robert) of Valley Falls, KS.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond and Herschel Wendt, as well as two sisters, Betty Kolbek and Mary Martin.

In addition to his wife and daughters he is survived by six grandchildren: Donald (DJ) Klenklen (Lacy) of Tonganoxie, KS; Kody Klenklen (Cynthia) of Tonganoxie, KS; Ryan Wistuba of Topeka, KS and Alyssa Weiner (Henry) of Galva, KS, Cameron Albertson of Vinita, OK and Cale Albertson, of Overland Park, KS and five great grandchildren: Zoey Klenklen, Ezekiel (Zeke) Klenklen, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Klenklen, Oliver (Ollie) Klenklen and Tobias (Toby) Klenklen all of Tonganoxie, KS.

Donald was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed. No formal services are planned. A family celebration of life will be at a later date.
