Donald Leroy Fischer

Donald Leroy Fischer, 84, of Topeka, Ks passed away on June 23, 2018 at Midland Hospice Care. Due to complications from cancer and dementia.

He was born October 7, 1933 in Leroy, Kansas the son of Max and Dona(Bowie) Fischer.

Don graduated from Burlington High School in 1951, where he played his favorite sport of football. Don also loved to fish, hunt, bowl, play cards and going on cruises.

Don worked for Seymore Foods as a foreman for 27 years before the company closed operations in Topeka. He then worked at the Topeka VA Hospital until his retirement in 1993. Then Don and his wife worked as custodians at Melvern Lake for 14 years.

Don was predeceased by his father, mother and sister Maxine.

Don and Shirley(Gordon)Fleenor were married on January 24, 1970 in Topeka, Kansas. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage.

Don is survived by his wife Shirley, of the home; his daughters: Diana(Tom) Meyer of Berryton, Ks. , Terry (Victor) Rosetta of Springfield, MO., Pat(Sean) Smith of Topeka. Don's Eleven grandchildren and Twenty great-grandchildren will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his brother-in law Ralph(Patty) Gordon of Kansas City, Ks.
