Donald Junior Easley

Donald Junior Easley was born on November 13, 1947 in Ottawa, Kansas. Donald is a Wichita East High School alum, the class of 1965, where he lettered on the swim team. Donald went on to earn his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Wichita State University.

Service minded as an Eagle Scout, Donald earned rank as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Donald entered the Marine Corps on January 3, 1969. Awarded to Corporal Easley are the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal with 3 Stars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm & Frame, and Vietnam Campaign Metal with Device. Corporal Donald Easley's honorable discharge occurred on July 2, 1971

Donald furthered his call to serve with the Wichita Police Department in October 1971. Donald pursued his Law Degree with Washburn University in the autumn of 1974. Donald worked with the D.A. as an investigator as well as the Boeing Aircraft Company. Ultimately, Donald would retire from the United States Post Office. Anyone who truly knew Donald loved him for his generous heart and marveled in his vast knowledge. When a need for a picture arose, either, man, woman or nature, Donald would be there. When there was a need for an answer to any question, Donald would whole-heartedly interject with a plethora of knowledge. When there was a book he needed to read, all things would be quieted and you may not have heard from Donald for a while, rest assured he would be somewhere near reading one of his thousands of books, many of which he already read one hundred times before.

Don is preceded in death by his parents: Sterling & Evangeline Easley, four siblings: Michael, Richard, Donna and Clifford Easley. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Brenda L. Kelley, two children: Donald J. Easley II (Latrice) and Kobra Donel Jones (Brian), seven grandchildren: Symone K. Easley, Amber N. Jones, Antonio K. Jones, Donald E. Easley, Tai A. Jones, Ethan M. Easley, Izak B. Easley, one great-grandson: Kai A. Easley; one sibling: Laura Butler and a multitude of family and friends.
