Donald Ray Borders of Meriden, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home in Meriden, KS.  He was born October 22, 1935 in Parma, Missouri to Roscoe and Naomi Borders.  He attended and graduated from Parma High School.    He served in the US Air Force and US Army and retired from military service.  He worked at Quaker Oats where he retired from.  He married Barbara L. Hollister on February 11, 1961 and had four children.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Borders, his daughters, Rebecca L. Fiedler of Dodge City, Kansas, Catherine N. Griffin of Meriden, Kansas and his son, Donald Ray Borders, II, of Whiting, Kansas.  Don had 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.  He loved attending all activities that his children and grandchildren participated in over the years.  Cremation is planned.  Don's Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held in the near future.
