Don Joe Keagy

Don Keagy, 84, of Topeka, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on August 28, 2022.

He was born April 7, 1938 in Witchita, KS son of Buelah (Earlywine) and Irwin Keagy.

Don married Barbara (Dryer) January 6, 1960, soon after they moved to Topeka.

Don was a very strong man, with a gentle soul. He was a lifetime meat cutter from a very young age. He was extremely helpful to anyone and everyone. He and Barbara were loving and caring foster parents for several years changing the lives of so many with his gentle demeanor. Don played basketball well into his retirement years, which was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed family gatherings on Sunday afternoons and watching sports together.

He is survived by his children Shannon (Mark) Scheffler, Kayla (Jeff) McClure, John Keagy; seven grandchildren, Joe, Andrew, Christopher, Aaron, Samantha, Zoie, Cloe; eight great-grand children, Reese, Theora, Osiris, Axton, Christopher, Aurora, Ella, Emiliano; half sisters Irvana (Alan) Wilks, Jennefer Cochran.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty, wife Babara, daughters Quina, Jill; great-grandchild Cody.
