Dixie Lee (Baker) Bailey

Dixie Lee (Baker) Bailey, 87, of Topeka, KS passed away Friday, August 26th, 2022, at MrCrite Plaza. She was born one of eight children on September 2, 1934, in Topeka the daughter of Horace and Jessie (Loy) Baker. Dixie graduated from Topeka High School. She worked for Hallmark right out of High school until1963. Then was a housewife until later in life when she worked for Allied Signal until her and her husband retired. Dixie married Elmer Bailey on May 28, 1954, in Topeka. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Nancy McDaniel, and Gary Bailey along with a brother, Dennis Baker. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace, and Jessie and six siblings. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
