Denise Louise Richards

Denise Louise Richards, 65, of Topeka, KS, passed away on April 7, 2020.  She was born December 5, 1954 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Orville and Louise (Mayfield) Lister. Denise graduated from Topeka High School in 1972 and attended Washburn University.

Denise worked as an insurance supervisor for the Cotton O'Neil Clinic for 24 years. Most recently, she enjoyed working for the Topeka Public Schools as a paraprofessional.

Denise married the love of her life, Richard Richards, on August 21, 1976. Richard passed away in 2013.  She is survived by a son, Geoff (Sherri) Poston of Ottawa, KS; A daughter, Heather (Greg) DeVore of Parkville, MO; and three grandchildren, Trey, Alexis and Saylor. Also surviving are a sister, Marilyn Boeckman of Wetmore, KS and a brother, Dan Lister of Topeka, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Louise Lister, and her brother, Larry Lister.

Denise will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Trey, Alexis and Saylor of whom she absolutely adored. Her motto was "What happens at Grandma's stays at Grandma's". She could be found with her grandchildren enjoying the zoo, dollar stores, getting ice cream or on the driveway hanging out. She loved her friends and family dearly.

There will be a celebration of her life with friends and family with a date to be determined.
