Delene “Dee” Kay Allensworth

Delene "Dee" K. Allensworth, 47, passed away on April 14, 2017 at Midland Hospice after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was the wife of William "Bill" E. Allensworth and they shared 24 years together.

Dee was born in Axtell, KS to Deland and Barbara (Broxterman) Cooper. She attended Seaman High School where she was a cheerleader and volleyball player. Dee worked as a bar manager and DJ until graduating from Washburn School of Technology when she became a licensed practical nurse, providing great care and comfort to all of her patients.

Dee loved nothing more than spending time with her family, her pets, and a good shopping spree. She also enjoyed swimming, tanning, playing games-especially poker and will be remembered most for her passion for life.

Dee was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara (Cooper) Breese, her in-laws Jack and Alice Allensworth, her brother-in-law Steve Bradley, and her beloved English bulldog, Goldie and chocolate lab, Coco.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Allensworth, her father, Deland Copper, her step-father, Neely Murphy, her daughters, Brooke Rowley and Kara (Brandon) Trieu, her 4 grandchildren, Ryder, Ameirra, Reynin and Kamelah, her sisters Jennifer Murphy Bradley and Darcie Kosmas, her brother Joshua Murphy, her companion and caregiver, David Johnson, her dog Charlie, her bird Alex, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23rd from 7:00-9:00pm and the funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24th at 11:00am, at the Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66615. To honor Dee and her love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made payable to the "Dee Allensworth Memorial Fund" and sent in care of Equity Bank, 3825 SW 29th St,. Topeka, KS 66614. All donations received will be used to create a bench in Dee's memory to be installed at the bark park for everyone to enjoy and remember her by.
