Deborah Lynne (Bolles) Agnew

Deborah "Deb" Agnew passed away at age 70 on Friday, June 7, 2024, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Deb was born on January 8, 1954, in Newton, MA, to Frederick T. Bolles and Barbara (Ronnick) Hoelck.

Deb spent her early life in Waterford, CT, and from the beginning, she was a force to be reckoned with. In 1984, Deb earned her nursing degree from Washburn University, and for the rest of her life, she was a dedicated and impactful figure in the psychiatric health field in Topeka, KS. With a will of iron but a kindness only observed once in a lifetime, she made her life in service to others and for the greater good.

When Deb wasn't dutifully tending her post, she was a joy to her family and a source of humor and wisdom. She loved cooking, Sunday dinners with her family, travel, photography, and poetry. Most of all, "Rangee" loved spending time with her only granddaughter, Lucy McPhail.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Agnew, her daughters, Caitlin (Agnew) McPhail and Ellen Agnew, and her granddaughter. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan (Dreger), Kerry (Latham), and Joy (Hinchey), as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Deb is preceded in death by her mother and father.

There will be a Celebration of Life from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Blackbird Espresso Bar and Bistro, 4025 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66604.
